Snapling Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Snapling desktop app, website and online tools.

Please read this policy carefully before using Snapling. By continuing to use the product, you confirm that you have read and understood this policy.

Snapling is provided and operated by Snapling. For this website and the Snapling desktop app, Snapling is the data controller for personal data that we receive directly from you.

The Snapling desktop app is built around local screenshots, scrolling captures and GIF recording. It does not upload, share or sell your personal information by default. The optional website Web Capture tool is described in Section 7.

During normal use, Snapling may process the following information, but it is generally kept only on your own device:

1. Screenshots, scrolling captures and screen recording content
   • When you choose to capture a screenshot, create a long screenshot or record a GIF, Snapling temporarily accesses screen content and saves the result to the export folder you selected.
   • These files are created by you and stored on your local device. Snapling does not upload them to any server by default.

1. App preferences
   • This includes shortcut settings, export directory, selection helpers, scrolling-capture preferences and GIF preferences.
   • These settings are stored locally on your device so Snapling can remember how you like to work.

1. Recent export history
   • Snapling stores a local record of recently exported files so you can quickly open, copy or remove them.
   • This record is only used for local management and is not used for advertising or external analysis.

1. Last selection area
   • To improve speed, Snapling can locally remember the last screenshot or GIF region you used.
   • You can disable this feature in settings, and the stored selection data will be cleared.

To provide capture and recording features, Snapling may request the following system permissions:

1. Screen Recording permission
   • This is required for screenshots, long screenshots, GIF recording and access to on-screen window content.
   • Without this permission, those features cannot work correctly.

1. File access and save permission
   • This is required to save screenshots, long screenshots and GIFs into the export directory you choose.
   • Files are stored only in the local path you selected.

1. Shortcut and input-listening capability
   • This is required to respond to global shortcuts that trigger screenshots, long screenshots or recording actions.
   • It is used only for product functionality and not for keylogging or input analysis.

Snapling uses the information above only for the following purposes:

1. To provide screenshot, scrolling capture, GIF recording, editing, saving and export features.
2. To remember your shortcuts, export path, selection preferences and recent files so the workflow stays fast.
3. To help you open, copy, delete or manage local files when you choose to do so.
4. To diagnose local runtime issues and improve stability and compatibility.

The Snapling desktop app does not upload your screenshots, recordings, preferences or recent file records to the internet by default, and does not sell them to third parties.

We do not share your data with third parties unless one of the following applies:

1. You intentionally send screenshots, GIFs or other files to someone else.
2. You use a system tool or third-party service to share, sync, back up or upload those files.
3. Disclosure is required by applicable law or by a lawful request from a judicial or administrative authority.

1. Exported screenshots, long screenshots and GIFs are stored in the local directory you choose. By default, that is usually a Snapling folder inside your pictures directory.
2. Preferences, recent export history and last-selection data are stored locally on your device.
3. You can remove this local data by deleting files, clearing recent history, disabling remembered selections or uninstalling the app.

The current version of Snapling does not include user-facing analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs or social-sharing SDKs inside the app.

The Snapling website may use anonymous, aggregated analytics to understand website visits, language preferences, traffic sources, guide-page performance and download button clicks. This website analytics is limited to the public website and download flow. To count unique visitors without identifying people, the browser stores a randomly generated identifier for up to 30 days and a separate temporary session identifier. These identifiers contain no account, device or fingerprint data. Analytics does not collect account information, contact-form fields or email addresses. If you voluntarily email us or submit the contact form, we receive the email address and message through your email service and use them to respond to your request.

When you use the optional Web Capture tool, the public URL you submit is sent to Cloudflare Browser Run so it can load the page and create the screenshot. The image is returned directly to your browser and is not retained by Snapling. To enforce the free daily quota, Snapling stores a one-day rotating hash derived from the request IP address in Supabase; quota records are deleted after 30 days. Cloudflare may temporarily process the URL, page content and resulting image under its own privacy and security terms. Do not submit private, authenticated or sensitive URLs.

We use cookies and similar technologies only where needed for analytics, advertising delivery, security or basic website operation. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, web beacons, pixels, IP addresses and other technical identifiers.

1. Google Analytics may use first-party cookies such as `_ga` and related measurement cookies to measure page views, referrals, language, campaign parameters and aggregate site use. Google may process an IP address to provide the service and approximate location, but our application does not store raw IP addresses.
2. Google AdSense may place or read cookies, use web beacons, process IP addresses and use similar identifiers when Google-served ads are displayed, including to deliver, limit and measure personalized or non-personalized advertising as permitted by law. 3. Plausible-compatible site analytics uses a randomly generated visitor identifier in `localStorage` for up to 30 days and a temporary session identifier in `sessionStorage`. These are not cookies and do not contain your name, email address, raw IP address or fingerprint.
4. You can manage or delete cookies and local-storage data through your browser settings. Blocking some technologies may affect analytics or ad personalization, but it does not prevent you from using the core website.

If a future version introduces third-party services, we will update this policy when required by law and, where necessary, ask you to review the changes again.

We make reasonable efforts to protect data processed locally by Snapling, including minimizing unnecessary access, keeping data on the device when possible and avoiding default external transmission.

Please note:

1. Any file stored on your device may still be affected by device loss, system failure, malware or your own sharing actions.
2. You are responsible for protecting your device, accounts, export directories and backup files.

You can manage data related to Snapling in the following ways:

1. Change or reset shortcuts, export paths, scrolling-capture settings and GIF settings in preferences.
2. Disable options such as remembering the last capture region to reduce local data retention.
3. Manually delete exported screenshots, long screenshots and GIF files.
4. Delete local app data or uninstall the app to remove saved preferences and records.

Snapling is mainly intended for adults, or for use under the guidance of a parent or guardian.

If you are a minor, please use Snapling only with the consent and guidance of your guardian.

We may revise this policy from time to time based on product changes, legal requirements or operational needs.

When this policy changes, we will provide notice in an appropriate place. Continued use of Snapling after an update means you accept the revised policy.
